Sunday sketches
Yesterday, I made some sketches of the underwater map mechanics!
Every biome has a unique mechanic so far:
Tundra requires you to make clothing, befriend penguins and manage temperature instead of happiness.
Sky requires you to send helicopters out on expeditions, manage planes and possibly manage condensation levels or fog will block your view and reduce settler efficiency.
So what are the underwater threats?
The primary one will be STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY.
Your bridge is protected by glass. Every bridge built reduces its structural integrity.
You need to build a variety of frames to maintain it.
You will also build elevators to descend. As you descend, you get benefits:
Your crane has a higher chance to mine multiple outputs, such as sand, titanium, stone (for the frames), as well as the new rare item: Diamonds.
However, descending puts more stress on your bridge.
Your final goal is to descend to a depth of -500m to reach Faraday's underwater lab. There you will finally discover the true origin of the storm, the whereabouts of Faraday and defeat the storm once and for all. Underwater is the final map.
Let me know if this idea rocks or if it sucks.

how many maps are you planning to do in total?
do you also make posts on another platform like twitter because it wont take extra work you just need to copy and paste and i believe posts on other platforms than itch are getting seen more.
4 maps - there could be more but my main focus is only on four and only these 4 maps will have unique mechanics and story.
I read that TikTok is the way to go now, but since it mainly accepts videos, I've not done it yet.
