Discord + My design philosophy

Some updates ago, I created and added the 'Discord' button to the main menu. But I never shared why it's placed so big and high up with the 'Play' button.

My approach to making games is to iterate with the community (you guys) and listening to players on how to improve the game.

This is the reason why the Discord and Play button are both of the same size - one represents building the game, the other represents talking to people and gathering feedback. I believe both are equally important.

That being said, I just wanted to officially let everyone know that the game has a discord, and if you want to leave me feedback, or to tell me why the game sucks, you can do that here or over there!

What's next

I've been working on the prologue and even considering if the game should have multiple maps with varying difficulty levels of the storm (and different storms), and use that to replace the difficulty selection. I will elaborate more in the next post. Maybe taking a boat at the home island added in v0.18 takes you to different maps!

I am also working on new pets!

I will be spending the next few days at Gamescom Asia. Just in case anyone reading this is gonna be there :)

Don't worry - I will still be posting daily about the game and its progress.

About your idea of making multiple maps with varient of storms i think this should be a part of a story mode. You can make to each map one special building for example in a ice map you can make a camp fire so they don't get too cold. And after each map you can give them a bridge style based on the map and a note of the story (those you already give after winning the game). You can also make the storm a bit different for example lowering the cold of the settlers in the ice map and instead of lighting you can do something else nature do shooting ice.

I really like the ideas here! Especially awarding of a bridge style based on the map and the journal unlocks!

Also love the idea of having ice shards instead of lightning on the ice map!

Looks like the game might get a story mode in the end at this rate haha
