Prologue map + Story


Working on a prologue level and a new map!


The new map not only serves to teach you how to play the game under no stress and timers, but it also reveals the story of how you got stranded. Does some worldbuilding too around the storm too. Here's some peeks at the new cutscene.


The new NPCs will also talk now.

And one of them even follows you around even as you build the bridge. This is the first NPC of its kind and I was inspired to make her after writing the follow logic for pets. But she's not just a pet - I gave her a new ability. She can speak! She gives tips occasionally so it is a non-intrusive way to help new players even more without interrupting gameplay.


Tutorials are really painful to make, but adding a story makes it a little less tiresome. I am working on the storm introduction cutscene which will be pretty epic (or at least it is when envisioned in my head). I can't wait to add the new map in when it's done.
