v0.6 - Storm HP, New buildings & music


v0.6 has been released! It is the first of many updates to come!

The storm now has health and is a boss fight! 



New turrets and defense options have been introduced.


One of the new buildings is the Deflector. When struck, it deflects lightning back at the storm, damaging it and stunning it for a short duration, allowing your other turrets to pummel it.


Your best shot at defeating the storm is still to build the Faraday' Device, but the new small turret is added to let you damage the storm gradually.

  • Tons of improvements, rebalancing, optimizations, fixes

Be warned, the game is harder now. However, several rebalancing changes were made to improve the game and reduce reliance on randomness.

Workshops were overpowered and have been nerfed. However titanium is now easier to obtain.

Cookhouses will now only appear after you unlocked veggie farms and diving stations as it requires their materials as pre-requisites.

The tutorial that asks you to pick sand now guarantees sand as an option.

Balancing:

  • - Settler cards will never appear in first five card draws
  • - Certain research effects and costs have been modified
  • - EXP and items now reward based on total settlers saved, rather than survivors at the end
  • - Card speed penalty increases 50% slower
  • - Easy Mode peace duration decreased: 2x -> 1.5x
  • - Titanium chance increased: 10% -> 20%
  • - High tier building card chance increased: 20% -> 25%
  • - Mark of Pantheon settler requirements reduced: 100 -> 50
  • - Reduce events per storm: 3 -> 1
  • - Event duration increased: 30 -> 45s
  • - Cookhouses now only unlock after diving huts and veggie farms, as it needs their resources
  • - Faraday's device now deals damage instead of one-shotting the storm
  • - Removed sprint ability
  • - Cards are no longer generated during the storm

Graphics

  • - Well, Distiller, Stormblower now have new level 1 appearances
  • - 'Crane' has been changed to 'Wooden Crane'
  • - Add building upgrade FX and sound
  • - +1 item text now sticks to building and doesn't move with the camera
  • - Card UI now expands and shrinks if more/less cards
  • - Storm HP Bar and UI now appears at the center during the storm
  • - Research bar now shows 1/5 instead of 20%
  • - Research tree icons are now aligned and have equal spacing (OCD!)
  • - Teriyaki icon changed

Improvements

  • - Add new tutorial to select buildings
  • - Add new tutorial to upgrade buildings
  • - Update help instructions
  • - Update several tooltips to be clearer
  • - Character info panel now shows more information
  • - Character now says 'oops' if you fall into the sea at the beginning
  • - 'View storm' camera shakes when lightning strikes and receives audio more accurately

  • - Reduce lag when constructing new building
  • - Optimize CPU usage by settler AI
  • - Fix 'Happier people' research not unlocking Church and Dance Floor
  • - Fix bug where once storm ends, the win cutscene keeps playing in endless mode
  • - Fix bug where storm destroyer could be shielded if built left of shield
  • - Fix outlines causing visual issues in water reflections
  • - Fix clicking on item slots causing inventory desync
