Introducing Power Plants that will arrive in the next update, v0.29:

There are concerns that people just spam turbines in the late game for power production, and I want to introduce alternate sources of power.

The power stations can be upgraded into different types as seen above.

 With the oil rig shown in the previous devlog, you can burn different types of Fuel for power.  But burning some fuels will produce pollution, a slightly new mechanic.
