v0.15 - Fishing Rod buff, UI improvements, QoL changes
I have updated the game to v0.15!
The fishing rod now has a 20% chance to catch the big fish. The reward is a little lackluster at the moment, as it is meant to be used as an ingredient for a premium food in future to add to a wider variety of food. But because that hasn't been added yet, I have temporarily boosted the trade value and restoration amounts of the item rewarded, so that in the meantime you can use it as a trading material or consume it.
When gaining items, an animation now plays to show the item flying to the inventory button. This will occur for the first 200 items collected from the sea or harvested from buildings.
I have improved the AI in large maps to avoid the chance of two settlers getting assigned the same duplicate task, causing them to be less efficient when carrying objects from place to place. While the code was already in place to prevent conflicts, there was a chance previously that during the same frame, two settlers could get assigned to pick up 1 resource. This will no longer happen after this patch.
I've changed the placement of the settings button in the main menu to the top right and a full-screen button has been added to the web version of the game.
The Quit to Desktop button on web makes no sense and has been removed. Also, clicking on it would crash the game on web previously since there is no desktop to quit to, so it was a hazard to leave it in the game for web anyway.
Tooltips have been added to each setting toggle and Singlish Mode is now a toggle.
Mills have had their size decreased by about 10%, which allows you to squeeze between them and other buildings, to make traversing easier in narrow pathways.
The bridge to the chickens have been removed and will be added back in future only when they are interactable. Goodbye chickens for now!
I've also changed the second mini area to no longer require bridges to reach as it was a little awkward having to build decks, then bridges, then decks again to reach there. Thus, the only use for bridges at the moment is to build toward the Lighthouse.
The inventory UI has also been expanded horizontally to fit 6 items per row, up from 4, as the variety of items in the game has been increasing steadily with recent updates.
I have also added a changelog to the main menu. The full list of changes for v0.15 is as follows:
